Project: PiP By the Numbers (2021 Annual Report Infographics)

Client: Partners in Print

Role: Art Director + Illustrator

Partners in Print brings people together by using old printing presses to amplify new voices, share knowledge, and spark creativity through letterpress printing classes, events, and programming.

Born from pandemic circumstances in 2020 out of the letterpress program at Seattle’s School of Visual Concepts, PiP is a new women-led non-profit arts organization that is steadily growing through the enthusiastic support of a global printmaking community.

2021 was PiP’s first full year of operations, and the first opportunity to grow the brand beyond the initial logo, typographic system, and color palette. Building on the style of an ink brayer icon created for a sticker sheet, these infographics break key information into digestible tidbits.

To celebrate the success of the inaugural year, PiP’s leadership team pulled together data to call out key moments for the 2021 end of year report. Accessibility through low-barrier scholarships and free events helped welcome printmakers of various backgrounds and experience to the ink table.

Community outreach programming helped amplify new voices in printed form, provided opportunities for civic engagement, and rallied artists around initiatives that encourage the craft of letterpress to shed its skin of exclusivity.

The graphics first appeared in the end-of-year giving campaign through email marketing and PiP’s social media channels, and were updated with final data for the annual Report to the Advisory team. They serve as the basis of a growing library of iconic assets in the Partners in Print brand.
