The colors represent water and land, and represent how TCA unites different groups in a common vision.<\/p>\n<p><strong>THE FINAL MARK<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Through our partnership and commitment to the entire complete design process, we worked our way towards a solution that:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>expresses the multiple facets of The Common Acre,<\/li>\n<li>is rooted in science,<\/li>\n<li>expresses connection to the environment, and<\/li>\n<li>has a bold, emblematic presence.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-991 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/amyredmond.com\/portfolio\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/TCA-logomark-web-L-300x257.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"257\" srcset=\"https:\/\/amyredmond.com\/portfolio\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/TCA-logomark-web-L-300x257.png 300w, https:\/\/amyredmond.com\/portfolio\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/TCA-logomark-web-L.png 655w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Behind the Scenes: Interconnection<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This logo was built using the Fibonacci Spiral, formed by an array of squares whose sizes are determined by the sum of the smaller squares preceding it (1+1=2, 1+2=3, 2+3=5, 3+5=8, etc).<\/p>\n<p>The ratio of the arcs in the spiral that is formed is very close to the Golden Ratio, which is commonly found in nature, including plants (number &amp; arrangement of flower petals, plant leaves, sunflower seeds); humans (the ratio between an arm &amp; a hand, the spiral in the cochlea of the inner ear); &amp; even plays a role in eye-pleasing proportions in art &amp; architecture (rule of thirds in composition).<\/p>\n<p>The sum of these parts make the Fibonacci series a very intriguing concept for TCA\u2019s logo, uniting the natural world with the man-made world through a shared language.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-970 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/amyredmond.com\/portfolio\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/TCA-logo-Fibonacci-spiral.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"525\" height=\"450\" srcset=\"https:\/\/amyredmond.com\/portfolio\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/TCA-logo-Fibonacci-spiral.jpg 525w, https:\/\/amyredmond.com\/portfolio\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/TCA-logo-Fibonacci-spiral-300x257.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 525px) 100vw, 525px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>IMAGINATION IN PLACE<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The new tagline captures the spirit of the The Common Acre&#8217;s approach to community work, especially in the urban landscape where efficient use of green space requires creative thinking. It is a direct reference to Wendell Berry&#8217;s\u00a0<em>Imagination in Place, <\/em>a collection of essays close that &#8220;serve as a reminder that a place indelibly marks its literature just as it determines its watershed community of plants and animals.&#8221; becomes greater than the sum of its parts.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-976\" src=\"https:\/\/amyredmond.com\/portfolio\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/TCA-logo-animation_loop.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"630\" height=\"630\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>DELIVERING A FULL LOGO SUITE<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Once the final concept was approved, I shifted to building out the color variations needed for a full array of applications, from black &amp;
