<\/a>\n\t\t\t<\/div><\/figure>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\nProject<\/strong>: Honey Jar Package Design<\/p>\n Client:\u00a0<\/strong>Urban Bee Company<\/p>\n Role<\/strong>: Design \/ Art Direction<\/p>\n In late 2014 I teamed up with Urban Bee Company, producer local and sustainable honey bee goods in Seattle, to create new packaging for their 5 ounce honey jars.<\/p>\n Single-origin and sustainably harvested in small batches, this raw and unfiltered honey is exactly as the bees made it in the backyards, small farms and urban wild spaces of Seattle. Because of this, the primary focus was to create one design that could accommodate an unlimited variety of honey. In addition the design needed to allow light\u00a0to pass through the jars, allowing the color and clarity of honey to be visible.<\/p>\n UBC\u2019s honey is extracted by hand, bottled in micro-batches, labeled with the hive location, and delivered by bicycle to subscribers and retail locations. The hives are free of high fructose corn syrup, plastics, and antibiotics.<\/p>\n With jar-return jar-return service, 100% plastic-free and post-consumer-waste labels, and hand-crank machinery, UBC\u2019s bottling operation is nearing zero-waste.<\/p>\n The honey is often available for purchase in select Seattle retail locations, including\u00a0Theo Chocolate\u2019s retail store<\/a>\u00a0in Fremont and Capitol Hill\u2019s\u00a0Rainbow Natural Remedies<\/a>.<\/p>\n Printer:<\/strong>\u00a0Emerald City Graphics, Seattle<\/p>\n Paper\/Ink:<\/strong>\u00a0Printed with vegetable-based inks on 100% recycled (50% post-consumer waste) paperboard<\/p>\n Photography<\/strong>: Urban Bee Company<\/a><\/p>\n Experienced with working in agency and studio settings,\u00a0Amy Redmond<\/a>\u00a0is an art director and visual designer who thrives on variety, creating print and interactive work for corporate and non-profit clients.
