TitleTime, Left Unattended

Year: 2018

Artist: Amy Redmond

Size: 8 x 10 inches

Time, Left Unattended acknowledges my frustration with squandered opportunity, and explores the dual role letterforms play as language and image. Representing a departure from my usual pre-planned method of working, this print was designed as each pass came off the press — an exercise in the catharsis of being fully present in the moment. The result is a visual transcript of a silent heart-to-heart conversation held between my thoughts and the type on a gray afternoon.

Time, Left Unattended can viewed at 10x10x10xTieton, a juried exhibition of contemporary art taking place August 10–October 6, 2019 at Mighty Tieton in Tieton, WA.

Designed, written & letterpress printed from handset metal and wood type with a Colt’s Armory platen press on Cotton Letterpress Fluorescent White, donated by Neenah Paper.

Originally created for the End of Times 3 invitational letterpress portfolio (curated and coordinated by artist Mary Bruno), this print is only available for sale as part of the full portfolio set.
