HOPE is a limited edition letterpress print produced as part of Hope is Action, a collaborative project by American designers initiated to inspire action, new ways of thinking, and new ways of being.
This handset metal type composition uses layering to redefine characters — mostly from the typeface Huxley Vertical — as new letterforms, creating a dynamic abstraction of the word HOPE.
The type glyphs used in this print are I U : 7
Designed, typeset & letterpress printed by Amy Redmond in 4 passes on a Colt’s Armory platen press.
- The “Hope is Action” project was co-produced by The Printing Museum, Ladies of Letterpress, and Partners in Print.
